For in Him we live, and move, and have our being (Acts 17:28a KJV)
Have you ever read where Paul said this and asked yourself this question: How do we move, breathe, and have our being (especially while living with a dove constantly abiding with us?) Well, the answer should be, Take every step with the dove in mind!
Humility is the Key to Presence
Wouldn’t you like to live every moment protecting what matters most and preserving what you love and honor most? Imagine the focus and sense of purpose that would require. By looking at Jesus, we see that that unity with the Spirit is about walking in complete humility and yielding to His will not our own. When we live with such consciousness of His presence, we are able to reveal or release a greater level of His presence around us. Our lives need to truly model Jesus’ and how He gave His life up in every area, even unto death, in order to show everyone who His Father truly was and is, and is to come. Are we not dead to the old man? Have we not become new creations through Jesus? If so, then we get to walk and live as Jesus, because the same Spirit lives in us! (Rom 8:11 NLT) But again, demonstration of this reality comes from knowing our lives are His and not our own.
Invitation for Exploration
Like Jesus and His disciples, they showed us that their lives were always about an invitation for exploration. They were always being led by invitation that comes out of a continual relationship and further exploration of the depths and heart of the Father. It’s through exploration and ongoing relationship with the Godhead that allows us to host His presence in greater ways than we could ever imagine. It’s about coming to the revelation that it’s not about us; it’s about glorifying the Father.
His Presence has an Impact on Our Presence
Through Scripture, Jesus and His disciples were showing us and inviting us to walk in such a way that the impact of His presence has an impact on our presence. In other words, everywhere we go, we are able to change the environment because we carry His presence abiding within us. It’s a principle that whatever we host and model internally will always affect what happens externally! If we are angry, bitter and jealous, then this will always come out and negatively impact the people around us. But if we are conscious of who we have living in us, then we host and manifest the presence of God, releasing His love and compassion for others in any situation. We then start to affect the natural realms around us and create an atmosphere where miracles happen.
An Oak Tree in Every Acorn
Think of it this way—There’s an oak tree within every acorn! That acorn has everything it needs on the inside of it to reproduce a majestic tree. It’s thinking and seeing from His perspective and from His realms of dominion and authority. All it requires is that we operate from this position. See, no tree can grow except the root from which it sprang. Through all it’s existence it can only live the life that was in the seed that gave it being.
Empty Vessels to be Filled by God
In the book “Humility” by Andrew Murray, he said it in this way—God wished to reveal Himself in and through His created beings by communicating to them as much of His own goodness and glory as they were capable of receiving. Our chief care, our highest virtue, and only happiness now, and throughout eternity, is to present ourselves as an empty vessel in which God can dwell and manifest His power and goodness through us to others.
That is how we can live and move and have our being in Him. More to come soon!
