Bryan and Sue Nutman, Associate Pastors at Heartbeat Ministries International (HMI) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, are trained Bethel Church Sozo Ministers. Sozo began in Bethel Church in Redding, California.
So, What is Sozo?
Sozo ministry is based on the Scripture Luke 4:18. Sozo is the Greek word that is often translated into English as “saved, healed, delivered, and made whole.” Sozo ministry is a unique inner healing and deliverance ministry that targets the root of things that hinder a believer’s personal connection with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. With a restored and healed connection, a believer can walk in the destiny to which they have been called.
A Sozo session is a time for the “Sozo team” to sit down with a guest, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, walk the participant through the process of finding freedom and wholeness. Sozo is not a counseling session but a time of interaction with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The purpose of it is to restore a wholeness that releases the guest into pursuing their purpose and destiny. The Sozo session may last from 1-2 hours and is conducted by two, possibly three trained team members.
Heartbeat Ministries has been affiliated with the Bethel Sozo Ministry since late 2013. Both Sue and Bryan saw the need to be fully trained and equipped in the Bethel system in order to develop this ministry within HMI. Their vision extends beyond the walls of the individual church. They desire to be an outreach to the Body of Christ in Colorado Springs and beyond. Since 2013, the Sozo ministry has grown greatly. This is evidenced by the fact that people travel from miles around for Sozo ministry.
John Bullock, also a member of HMI, now oversees the day to day administration of the Sozo ministry and schedules Sozo sessions for those who would like this kind of ministry.
