Are You A Soldier or a Son?

A Father's Inheritance

If you can give only one gift to your son or daughter let it be love!

The question is, are you a soldier or are you a son? If you don’t know read on…

Does Life Seem a Battlefield?

Sometimes in life, have you had to battle through things and circumstances and use sheer determination to get where you needed to go?  Have you found that you have had to almost fight for what you needed or what you were hoping for? During these times, did it seem to be a battlefield of the mind and soul to gain any ground as you beat back those negative thoughts and situations? Well, you are not alone!

There’s Hope for Your Breakthrough

There can be times when it feels like you are just in a constant battle and nothing seems to be going right. There’s no break in sight, and no breakthrough anywhere in your situation. However, read on. There is hope for where you are right now.

Take Back Ground in This Season!

Whether you are looking at financial difficulties that are screaming for answers, health situations that are crying for divine intervention, or even family feuds that requires restoration, there’s a way to take back ground. There are a variety of ways to gain breakthroughs depending on what season you are in. Here’s how to find out:

In Matthew 11:12 (ESV) it says, From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.” Also, in 1 Timothy 6:12 (NKJV), it states “that we should be fighting the good fight of faith”.

Soldier Mode

In other words, there are times when things come against us and we need to be that “soldier” trained and in faith fighting mode. To be in that place of standing, declaring, and even fighting or persevering in those times of hardship in a battle. This can be a great place to receive what we need and come out the other side in victory.

Jesus Never Did the Same Miracle Twice

However, there are other times or seasons, where we may not receive certain things as a soldier. We have to receive from God in another way. Let’s face it, Jesus never did the same miracle twice. He separated Himself to His Father to know what season He was in.

A Different Season

So, what is this other season where you receive what you need, but have not seen the full outcome yet? Well, this is what I call the season of being a “son” or a “daughter.” There is a difference between a soldier and a child.  These amount to one thing and one thing alone—INHERITANCE!

Receiving Your Inheritance

There are times where you receive things in battle, but other times where you receive through inheritance, simply because you are a son or a daughter of God! This is not passive. Sonship is a position of rest, knowing it has already been provided, and you just get to live from this place.

As it says in Romans 16:20, “And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.”

Sometimes our greatest battles are not won in war…They are won in peace!

Ask the Question and Listen for the Answer

And if the battle has already been won, we can receive all the spoils of war from a place of peace through inheritance from our Heavenly Father. We just need to know how to receive. But also we need to ask God this one important question: “Lord, please show me which season am I in right now?”

Learn to Receive All that’s Been Given

These following Scriptures show that we have been adopted and now have gained our inheritance through Jesus Christ. This is the reason why we can partake and receive all that we need from our position in the family of God. Why would a child search for what he/she has been born into?

Romans 8:16-17 (NKJV) The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Ephesians 1:11 (NLT) Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.

Ephesians 1:5-6 (NLT) God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

Know the Season and Walk Through to the Other Side in Victory

So today, if you are in a battle, get into that quiet place and ask the question: “Lord which season am I in? Do I need to fight or just simply inherit?” Once you know, then you can confidently receive because you know what season it is.
